Ansar-ud-deen mourns death of ex-president Onisarotu

The Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria on Friday described the death of Bisiriyu Onisarotu, its immediate past National President as a great loss to Islam and the nation.

A statement issued in Ibadan and signed by Muibideen Adebanjo, the Publicity Secretary of the society, quoted Lateef Okunnu, the National President, as saying that his predecessor’s death was painful.

Mr. Okunnu described Mr. Onisarotu as a man whose contributions to Islam and the nation was worthy of emulation.

“He commiserated with the Lagos State Government, Nigeria and prayed the Almighty God to grant him aljanat firdaos (eternal rest),” the statement said.

Mr. Onisarotu, who was the Mogaji Ngeri of Epeland, died on Friday at the age of 83.
