I’TIKAF FOR RAMADAN 1442 AH

14th Ramadan, 1442 AH
26th April, 2021

Following responses from various parts of the country on our Press Release of 28th Sha’aban, 1442 AH (11th April, 2021) on I’tikaf, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, again enjoins the Ummah to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 protocols in their respective states of residence.

In states where I’tikaf is permitted, Muslims are allowed to perform it while observing necessary safety measures and where it is not, Muslims are encouraged to refrain from it. Whichever case obtains in one’s state, the directives of state governments and health authorities on Covid-19 should be complied with.

May Almighty Allah grant us all the blessings of Ramadan. Amin.

Ramadan Kareem!

Signed.

Arc. Zubairu Haruna Usman-Ugwu
Director of Administration
Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs
