COMMISERATION
Every soul shall taste of death. And you will be paid on the day of resurrection only what you have fairly earned. Whoever is removed from the furnace of Fire and provided with a place in Paradise is indeed triumphant. The life of this world is but ephemeral comfort in man’s sheer illusion”. Q. 3:185.
The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) under its President- General and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni hereby commiserates with the government and people of Kano State over the demise of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ado Bayero, the longest reigning Emir of Kano.
His permanent departure has, no doubt, created a big vacuum which only Allah may help to fill. As Emir for over 50 years, he played such an exemplary role that commanded the respect of all and sundry across the country including that of non-Muslims. For most of his life as an Emir, he was a strong pillar of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) whose contribution to that umbrella body of Nigerian Muslim Ummah was immeasurable.
His tenure as Emir was an epoch in the anal of the history of Kano as he combined cultural, spiritual and temporal spheres of life with the carriage of a unique royal charisma.
The rapid progress of Kano both as a metropolitan and as a State attests to this fact. Besides, he was nationally acknowledged not only as a detribalized traditional ruler but also as unique ridge builder across tribes and religions.
And in the area of commerce and security, Alhaji Ado Bayero laid a formidable foundation that has made the erection of further structures of progress easy for his successor. He will for long be remembered as a royal champion of cultural and Islamic civilizations particularly in Nigeria and generally in Africa.
We thank the Almighty Allah for his fruitful life which has become a model for most Nigerian traditional rulers as well as other people who are aspiring to become exemplary leaders. We pray Allah to repose his soul in eternal bliss and grant his immediate and distant families the fortitude to carry on peaceful life in his absence.
